Alecia Hemphill Self, OHS 1961, has announced plans for an Odessa GATHERING in Granbury,Texas, October 11th and 12th,
2019. it is planned to be staged at "Celebration Hall" in downtown Granbury, Texas. Anyone and all are invited,
but this will focus on the OHS and PHS 1961 databases. If you are interested in attending then email this site and I will
aid the organizers of your intentions. More details later as they emerge. Michael Lewis Moore
BTW: It is my humble opinion that all of us longtime survivors of yesteryear should make an effort to attend and corral as
many strays as possible due to the herd's thinning numbers, no matter what year or school. The classes of 1961 databases
are all that we can work with in an email driven invitation, so, if possible, I hope you will help those organizers as they
emerge and help spread the word if you plan to attend or not. Anyone who has ever helped in one of these efforts know how
frustrating it can be at times to get commitments in order to gauge the risks that are taken with rented facilities and other
vendors. It is not easy to do. I hope you all will keep that in mind. mlm

Hi Classes of 1961 OHS/PHS, POSTED JUNE 10-2019
We want to give you a quick update on where we are with plans for the Celebration on the Square in October. Our 1961
OHS/PHS Classes are actually 2 years away from our 60th and this get-together will be to celebrate the fact that we are able
to get together for an early celebration of our friendships, memories and times together in Odessa. We are inviting everyone
from every school and class so get in touch with friends from other classes who might want to join us.
We have rented Celebration Hall on the square in Granbury for Friday and Saturday, October 11th and 12th. Registration
will begin on Friday afternoon (time to be determined) and later in the evening we will meet to have a light meal with visiting
lasting until midnight (do you actually think any of us will last until midnight?)
On Saturday morning, we will meet for brunch around 10:00 am. The rest of the day will be spent with everyone doing whatever
they want to do. Celebration Hall will be open all day for those who want to meet there to visit. We will have remembrance
books, memorials, pictures of past reunions, etc. Later in the day on Saturday, we will meet for an evening meal together.
Again, we can (if we're able) stay until midnight to enjoy each other and remember the amazing times we have shared together
over the years.
We have special room rates with the Hilton and Plantation Inn but there are certainly other hotels and Bed/Breakfasts
in Granbury. Web sites will be sent by tomorrow for the Hilton, Plantation Inn and other locations. If you want to go ahead
and book at the Hilton Inn or Plantation Inn, be sure to tell them you are with the OHS/PHS Reunion Group to get the discounted
The Registration form is going to be sent out tomorrow with a registration fee of $60.00. This will include the meal
on Friday evening, brunch on Saturday morning and meal on Saturday evening all served at Celebration Hall plus access to Celebration
Hall on Friday afternoon and evening and all day Saturday. Celebration Hall has a BYOB policy so you can bring your cooler
with beer, wine, etc. and we will furnish water and maybe soft drinks during the day on Saturday. We will have access to an
ice machine located at the hall.
More information is coming but for now, if you have questions, please contact Charolette Cooper Behrendt at firstname.lastname@example.org
OR Alecia Hemphill Self at email@example.com As always we need help to make this happen so if you are willing to help with
registration or set up on Friday, let one of us know. We are not having fancy decorations in order to keep the registration
fee as low as possible but we can promise that you will be glad you joined us!
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Granbury in October.
Charolette Cooper Behrendt and Alecia Hemphill Self
